6 Pillars of Well-Being

Calm Mind

We begin our year of study with the Calm Pillar ~ which is the cornerstone for women’s well-being on every level. In this pillar we learn to increase calm in our lives by understanding the brain-body physiological connection. We draw our tools from principles of limbic calming, self-regulation, hormonal balance, calm metabolism, sovereign thinking, and mind-body integration.

You’ll learn how to teach women to increase calm by:

  • tapping into their “brain’s back door”- the limbic system with fast acting calming tools and techniques
  • establishing a strong start to their day for lasting calm and resiliency
  • restoring symptoms of adrenal fatigue and burnout in their lives
  • managing overwhelm so they can begin to live with vitality and clarity
  • mastering their mental triggers to make peace with their own thoughts
  • using the dynamism of their minds for their own well-being
  • practicing the power of presence through the mind-body connection
  • applying principles of heart energy to maintain healthy coherence in the body

Nourished Body

Next we move into our Nourished Body Pillar where we learn to teach women how to use food and nourishment as tools of well-being in their lives. The WellGrounded methodology is not about adhering to a specific nutritional theory or diet. Instead you will understanding how food functions in your body and how to support women in how to use food to nourish and care for themselves.

You’ll learn to teach women how to use foods to:

  • turn on the calm metabolism so they can feel grounded and balanced
  • satisfy their true cravings so they have peace and freedom with food
  • release unnecessary weight so they feel lighter and stronger
  • fuel their bodies and minds to experience more clarity and energy
  • support their moods to feel happy and resilient
  • build up a strong immune system so they feel healthy and vital
  • balance what is deficient through the use of foods’ seasonal and intrinsic qualities
  • cleanse from excessive toxic loads
  • heal and nourish their innate detoxification systems
  • balance and nourish their hormonal systems to stay restored and whole

Restorative Rest

As we move our training year into the Restorative Rest Pillar, we begin to focus on how our magnificent hormonal bodies impact the critical areas of our well-being and self-care, particularly as women. Our studies combine elements of targeted nutrition, mind-body work, herbal supports, self examination and energetic work to equip us with a robust tool-kit for establishing hormonal vitality and deep, restorative rest in our lives.

You will be prepared to teach women how to establish hormonal wellness and restorative rest through:

  • designing effective evening routines that promote restorative sleep leaving them revitalized in the morning
  • supporting the role of the Pineal gland in harmonizing their circadian rhythms naturally
  • speaking to the specific wellness needs women have during the seasons of pregnancy, breastfeeding and weaning
  • understanding, tracking and honoring their female hormonal cycles including the powerful role of estrogen and progesterone in women’s physical, emotional and mental well-being
  • identifying signs of imbalance from symptoms of PMS and how to alleviate them by healing the root causes of them
  • preparing and making space for a healthy, vibrant transition into menopause

Joyful Movement

In our Joyful Movement Pillar, we study our need for movement, activity and growth in multiple areas of our lives. We explore this innate need for growth on a physiological level as well as an inner level as it relates to our core needs around creativity, intellectual stimulation and meaningful contribution. When effective tools of growth and movement come into our lives we feel fresh and open to more creativity, connection, and intimacy.

You will be prepared to teach women how to bring movement into their lives through:

  • tapping into the principles of joyful movement that connect our physical body with pleasure, flow and joy
  • connecting the physiological core energy pathways to the bodies’ need for activity and movement
  • nourishing the thyroid gland: our bodies’ hormonal “Energy Generator”
  • connecting the crucial role creativity, voice, and personal growth play in a women’s self care practice
  • understanding the 5 major systems of hormones, how they impact and amplify one another and ways to balance, restore and nurture hormonal well-being
  • creating clarity and increases productivity by feeding our brains what they need to run with high efficiency

Authentic Connections

As we move into the Authentic Connection Pillar are explore the parts of self care which relate to our own self-connection and how we connect to others in our lives.  A whole-person approach to self care recognizes that nourishment comes in many forms and our practices of healthier living must be multi-layered if they are going to truly nourish us.

You will be prepared to lead women through their own explorations around:

  • identifying their unique “song” and clarifying their true voice in the world
  • keeping the channel of spiritual connection open and thriving in their lives
  • honoring their need for a thriving circle of friendship and sisterhood connections in their lives
  • growing in their core need for sensual connection to their bodies and intimate connection to their spouse or partner
  • effectively navigating difficult seasons with those they love in order to maintain thriving, strong relationships

Aligned Living

As we move into the Aligned Living Pillar we take the tremendous body of work we’ve explored to this point and consider how to integrate personal self care practices into our everyday lives.A core element is to identify the inner compass anchors that every woman has which defines her truest set of beliefs and values and points the way for her to align her life with what is most meaningful to her.

You will learn how to guide and support women to:

  • identify their multiple identities and purposes
  • tap into their inner priority filters to know how best to invest their time and energy
  • live from their true strengths and bring the best of themselves into every role they play
  • create strong and relevant boundaries in order to honor themselves and protect their energy
  • identify energy leaks and drains and learn tools to recover when they feel drained and exhausted from being spread too thin
  • honor their sacred schedules and use their time wisely and in ways that produce the most fruits of peace, contentment, fulfillment and joy in their lives
