3 Biggest Mistakes Women Make when they Cleanse and Detox

Spring is literally around the corner, but the weather in my backyard feels like it is already here.

This is one of my favorite seasons…in so many ways it is nature’s new year and a much more fitting time to get revived and make a fresh start than January, don’t you think?

One of the things I love to do is enter the Spring with a whole-life cleanse to mark the sloughing off of the long winter and the rejuvenation I’m so ready for.

Today I wanted to share with you 3 of the biggest mistakes women make when they enter a cleanse or detox.  These are likely not what you’ve heard before…and the third one is the most important of all!

I’m also in the process of putting together a comprehensive video workshop on the full roadmap for a whole-life cleanse and detox, WellGrounded Life style!

My biggest hang-up is establishing and maintaining new habits. It feels like there are certain areas of my life where my habits are less-than-optimal and I am constantly resisting sliding back into places that are not healthy for me. Kind of a two steps forward, one step back situation. However, I am trying to be gentle with myself and also recognize that I shouldn’t give up and the fact that I am continually trying to improve myself and my health is a positive thing and I should feel good about the efforts and progress I am making. It’s a journey for sure!

    1. Kathleen,
Thank you so much for this comment…I love to hear you are being gentle with yourself as you work toward establishing habits that stick. Taking time to celebrate what you DO do well, is so essential. Being well in the journey is the destination 🙂

  2. Lisa when I took your whole-life cleanse class the first time, I intended to make it at least a 2 times a year activity..and I haven’t .. thanks for the reminder.

    1. Erin! Make sure you jump on the group run this Spring- as you know once you take the course, you are a lifetime member — going through with a group can be a huge motivator- and we’ve really upleveled the course this year so I think you’ll enjoy all the improvements!

  3. Perfect timing to talk about this, as resolutions are lagging and Spring cleaning is on the radar! Can’t wait to learn more about the upcoming workshop.

    1. Thanks for commenting Renee….Spring is the perfect time in my opinion to revive those resolutions for sure 🙂

  4. You know I’m big on #3 (surrounding yourself with home and work environments that bring peace / calm / good energy : ) I’m working on #1 (recognizing the toxins in addition to “food” ones… a big one I love this time of year especially – self tanner – definitely something I would NOT eat – curious to your thoughts on this. What I struggle with most: #2: habits (food & non-food related ones) to maintain that cleanse. Looking forward to workshop.

    1. Hi Angela…great Q about the self tanner – I know there are many kinds on the market- some “safer” than others…I’ll make a note to explore it further in the course this Spring too!

  5. REALLY good stuff! I think I do really well with the first two (1.recognizing that there are systems in place within me and they all work together and 2.making healthy habits that allow me to incorporate health into our lifestyle). I really struggle with the third hang-up. I understand that I thrive on order. I’ve seen this to be true in my life. But, somehow I struggle to teach these principles to my kiddos. Maybe my expectations are a little high, but I would love it if they’d also value the order in our home and help to create it! I have 4 little ones BTW (8,6,4,2). Sometimes I feel so frustrated by the chaos. How to create an atmosphere of order???

    1. Oh Jodi, I feel ya! There is the sweet spot while our kiddos are young to know the season we are in and allow some of the “mess” just to be there with grace….AND knowing when the mess is really impacting how our days are going and getting creative with strategies that allow order amidst the busyness of life!

  6. Is it possible that you could post a transcript? I’m hearing impaired and didn’t get anything you said during the voice-over parts… Thanks, in advance.
