Hi, It’s Lisa.  I’m probably a lot like you. A busy mom who is doing her best to raise and love her children, care for her husband, manage a household, balance work and keep it all together.  And I feel the stress that can come from these roles daily.

When your work is caring for your children (among other things) you simply can’t just shut off where the stress comes from.

Many of us, if we can’t remove the cause of stress, stuff the inner stress deeper and deeper down hoping it will go away.

But pretending to act calmly while exploding inside only lasts for so long.

Stress effects everything: how we parent, how we feel, what we crave, the weight we are holding, our digestion and our energy levels.

I love raising my kids, they bring me loads of joy and happy times, but there is no denying that the stresses of raising children and running a household are real and demanding.  How we respond to stress completely shapes how we experience our days. Change the way you respond and handle stress and you will transform your life.

This course will give you the tools you need to shift from a stress response to a calm response.

As a health coach, I learned many tools and strategies on how to keep our minds, emotions and bodies healthy.  But the experience of mothering challenged me to translate those things into practical, concrete strategies that work in this lifestyle. And I had to test those strategies to find what worked for me so I could build a robust plan for keeping myself healthy.

I’m launching a 12 week paid course on healthy living for busy moms in September. I’ve been having a fantastic time developing that course.  As I work through the different elements that busy moms struggle with, I’m finding that stress is one of the central issues.

Stress prevents us from losing weight, feeling vibrant and energized, feeling emotionally balanced and enjoying life.  Tackle this one issue first and the path toward overall health is smoothed out.

So I wanted to offer a free mini course as a kind of introduction to the 12 week full course I’ll be launching in September.

The Details

We’ll go through 4 weeks together where I’ll share quick, simple and practical ways to really deal with the stress, dismantle it, and shift into a calm response using stress-beating foods and restoration techniques.

This will be a multi-media course.  Each week will include a video, pdf course materials, a live audio class, and a password protection blog post for you to connect with others, get support and share your experience.

Everything will be designed to fit into a busy lifestyle. Most of us do not have the time to join lengthy audio classes, watch hours of video or read through pages of text.  My videos will be around the 10 minute mark or less, the audio classes will be 20-30 minutes long, and the pdf material will be streamlined and worksheet styled so you can quickly read through and glean the information you need.

We will cover:

  • What is really happening in our body when we respond to stress.  Once you know how you work, you can work with your nature to get the outcome you want.
  • How to dismantle the stress-overeating cycle.
  • The connection between stress, weight gain, sugar cravings and emotional highs and lows.
  • What foods signal your body to calm and center, and which foods feed overwhelm and exhaustion.
  • How to quickly stimulate your brain to relax and release feel good hormones.
  • How to switch on your calm response, no matter how stressful the situation you are in.
  • Gain control of the strongest weapon you naturally have against stress.
  • Effective ways to prevent stress build up and identify your unique stress patterns and triggers.

The Schedule

The course begins July 17 and ends August13.

Each Saturday you’ll receive the video, pdf weekly course materials, and details to call in for the audio class.  I’ll also alert you if there may be an item to pick up from the store or market that will be helpful in order to do the week’s “homework”.

Every Monday evening at 8pm EST I’ll hold a live audio/visual class.  You can call in by phone and log in by website.  On the website, I’ll  share slides to accompany my talk and you can type in questions as we go.

By Tuesday morning you’ll get a link to access the recording if you couldn’t make the call.  Live participation is best, but all I ask if you can’t make the call is that you do listen to the recording.

Each Thursday you will receive a “members only” blog post that will be open to all participants so we can share, support and connect with each other around a central discussion topic.
